Warehouse: Havells

Havells was facing major problems with their previous facility which was an-old fashioned warehouse with water leakages because of the old structure where screw down sheets were used and uneven flooring disrupting the smooth working of their forklift machines. They were facing inefficiency and interrupted operations specially in the monsoon seasons.

After witnessing our successful completion of Llyod’s warehouse in Jaipur an immediate requirement came from the branch office for Havells to us.

The facility requirement was peculiar and very specific, with a focus on getting a Grade A facility to overcome the problems they were currently facing. After multiple discussions with Havells, a BTS (Build-to-Suit) was mutually agreed upon followed by floating the requirements and expectations.

They gave us some very clear mandates, with the top priority being:

Efficiency of the facility

Effortless smooth flooring

Strict Timelines

We welcomed their priorities as a challenge and brainstormed innovative ideas within our internal team and came up with accurate solutions for Havells.

To give clear height, we proposed a height of more than 13 meters which in itself is one of its kind in Jaipur.
To increase efficiency, to use Jack Beams in the pre-engineered building that made the structure sturdy.
Precise FM2 grade flooring that would lead to smooth warehousing operations.
Seamless roofing sheets which provided a leakproof solution.

Le voilà, the perfect match for the client. They were extremely satisfied with our proposal and the groundwork soon started for their facility.

We had our own roadblocks as the use of the Jack Beams increased our costing. We had to face hindrances of the monsoon season during the construction and the labour crunch, which would have stretched the timelines of the project. The facility had to be delivered within 6 months.

Keeping the lyrics of the “We shall overcome” song in mind, we overcame all those challenges, and Havells parked their first truck on their brand-new warehouse dock before the given timelines. They were extremely delighted with the new spacious facility with excellent air supply and ease of movement for multiple forklifts at any given time.

This is story of how we completed the state-of-the-art A-grade warehouse for Havells in Jaipur, but the story doesn’t end here. This was the start of a wonderful partnership, and we are looking forward to building their warehouse facilities pan-India.
